muffler
hello, is there a way to differentiate between the 65240-67 (turnout muffler and the 65242-67 (extra quet) ? as seen on pg.92 ofthe part's book. I have one and it is quet but i am hoping to locate another and don't know if there is a difference in size or just how it muffles the sound. when i said the muffler was quet i'm not sure which it is , it sounds quet but i have no way of knowing which it is ;if in fact it will make a diff. i am collecting part's hoping to run dual's with a cross-over. thought i was getting tru duals turned out to be a cross-over . won't be my first knee-jerk purchase probably not the last. thanks for any help.. next possibility will be run the 2 into one and down the road put two re-pop cigars on. thanks Chuck

Re: muffler
I agree without having a sample of each it's hard to tell which one you have.
Just a guess here but the difference could be in the internal baffling. I think
you could look through from end to end & see how restricted it is. But again,
without one to compare it to it's an excersize in futility.
I hope this helps. ~Rick

Re: muffler
G'day Chuck58pan,
Something for you to keep in mind, is that dual system mufflers at some stage were shorter
than single system mufflers. I'm talking 3 - 4 inch difference maybe 5". Did you know you can still buy
a muffler straight from the MoCo, the cigar type your number but -52 I think, and this is stamped on the
muffler. You'll need deep pockets, but excellent quality and chrome finish.
Cheers
Pete

Re: muffler
Thank's mate , your set-up looks great!, looks very much like my bike, wish i could spend some more time and figure out the picture problem; i know i need a shrinker but hesitate to utilize outside help.I will try again. there are so many instance's that require picture-clarification. your S-pipe and long Y seem to be unified is thatso? Very sanitary look! thanks, chuck

G'day Jim,
Lovestory is right. We have rego labels that have to be displayed.
I make and sell the holders, a very small side line. I do anodized coloured ones as well.
Red Blue Black Purple.
Chuck,
Yeah, one piece to just under the footboard. The separate squish pipe I reckon is better, easier to fit
the pipes.
