exhaust covers

Hello
Does anyone know where to get the spiral tubes wrapped around the exhaust ?
Anyone know how they are called ?
Looked all over the net, unable to find them.

Need a piece longer then the ones to be obtained as "panhead originals".

jpcycles has them as does V-Twin, both come from the same source by the way. One problem is they don't quite fit and you really have to wrestle them on. Finding originals is extremely difficult but they'll fit.

I've been thinking about getting some of these and have a question or two. How tight of a fit are they? Do they rattle?

the originals fit fairly snug and they do not rattle.

if you are lucky as i was to find some oem ones be patient and soak them repeatedly in penatrating oil to get them loosened up before installation.

the more flexible they are the easier they are to slide on the pipes.

Regular old flex pipe from the auto supply comes in sizes that will just fit the OD of stock pipes. Cut it as long as you like and have it chromed!

One other thing to keep in mind is, if your using a closed belt primary which required the tranny to be slid to its forward most position to install the belt then you won’t be able to fit the flex tube of the rear cylinder all the way down over the y-pipe because the kicker cover will interfere.

Let's see if I can attach a picture. These were V twin slinkys. The originals are thicker and have better chrome.
