Re: S&S Super E and internal cable on a 1960 FL
Let me be more specific...I have a 1960 FL that has the internal cable inside the handle bar. I have installed a new S&S Super E carb and would like to use the original, single wire cable. This is a 54 gauge wire and is not flexible enough to operate the throttle controls...a friend told me his father did something with a spark plug...I have not got a clue except to use an S&S throttle grip.

AH! Ok... now I get it. Sorry I don't have any experience with the internal throttles. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you though. Great bunch of people here.

cer-
I don't know anything about the S.plug trick ???
But you need a "reverse Spiral" to 'pull' the wire instead of 'push' Then you can connect to the carb & will work..
Been done plenty of times....
Otherwise if you use the 'push spiral' you will need to remove both S$S E big return springs on the throttle shaft. (Un-Safe way) & drill the back side of the throttle connection plate, & 'drill' a small bolt
to put in & the wire & nut it tight..
my 3.2 cents...
