Its easy Glenn, you can do it in your mailbox!
seriously, I have never tried to do one myself. I send them to Cotten, he knows what he's doing, and they come back like brand new.

Just screw a Tap into them and pull them out. They are not in that tight. Then push the new ones in and, Ideally, Hone them on your Sunnen. Or do it by hand.

Re: how to replace throttle shaft bushings
Moose!
As per Palmer's,
the bushings can be removed by turning a sacrificial M7x1 tap into each one, and drifting it out from the other side.
Installation requires cleaning and inspection of the casting bores,
choosing bushings of an appropriate press-fit,
lubeing them,
and then pressing them in while aligned with a ground shaft and precision-bore pucks as shown. The bushing should be pressed no farther than flush, and left proud if there is apparent wear on the thrust surface around the bore.
Beware that not all casting's bushing bores are aligned to each other, as many have been distorted by over-torquing.

How's the shaft look? I thought I needed bushings but a new shaft was all that was needed.

Re: how to replace throttle shaft bushings
I have a new shaft but the lower bushing is too loose
how much clearance should be between the shaft and the bushing
