panhead i have has a M75 linkert carb on it bike had not been started since 1987 i got it back in november took carb apart and cleaned and got it to run fair is the m 75 a good carb to run on a pan?

I think the M75 was for a '41 Knuck, but can be made to service as well as any, if it is put in order.
Inspect for throttleshaft slop, manifold flange warpage, daylight around the venturi, and a float that will float. Remedies are easy for these common ailments.
The hard one is when the throttle disc has worn itself into the carb bore to the point where a groove extends all the way to the idle bleed holes:
I commissioned oversize 9/X discs to be made for this repair; The groove is merely honed away to fit the disc.
