This Linkert is an M35. Appears to have pieced together to some degree.
Most likely from a knucklehead?

Re: Linkert ID
Thanks Cotten. I guess this linkert is probably not a good starting point for my 64. Or would it be?
I currently have an S&S Super E, and am thinking about trying a linkert. I have never run a linkert before, and only recently retrieved the pictured unit off my garage wall, where it's been hanging for the last 15 years. It came in a parts box, with the bike.
(I am not concerned with absolute period correctness, as correctness is already shot to heck by other features of my bike)

Re: Linkert ID
i don't know what a M35 is worth, but i bet you could trade it to someone for a correct M74B, possibly in better condition than what you have now.
worth a thought anyway.

Re: Linkert ID
Just to be picky and exact:
A proper M-74B for a '64 would have the "B" stamped with no 'serifs', while early models had a slightly smaller stamp with serifs.
Many of the '64 carbs I have encountered also had the bottom of the bowl machined beyond the bowlnut seal surface, including a single digit stamp. (By '65, they all did.)
At any rate, an M-35 should be worth slightly more than an M-74B by virtue of the fact that an M74B is the most common Linkert on the planet.
