One float that will work in any gas cocktail, oxygenated or not, 92 test (Ethyl), Ethanol, Marvel Mystery Oil ®, 108 ® High octane booster - combo.
I'm going to test the Durable ® float and see if I can make it croak.
What's used to lock the float set screw :?: Indian Head ® gasket sealer? Seal-All ®?

Good question VT, I think the originals did have a little dab of something on the little nut to keep it on the screw.

Cotten? How well does red LocTite hold up in today's fuel? Anybody tested it?

I use an isocyanate urethane.
The only other goober that I have found un-digested was a thin dab of J-B Weld.

Please note that the important part of the packaging has not been displayed: The installation notes inside the label.

Truer words where never spoken. I snapped my first Durable float in half by not following the installation notes. Tried a few differant products to put it back together without any luck. So now it is displayed on my wall of shame, along with the other perfectly good products I have destroyed by not doing things the proper way. :)

Another way to lock the float screw is with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) cured with instant activator. Not cheap discount store stuff but the good quality cyanoacrylate and activator spray found in hobby shops thats used to build RC planes. I locked my Durable with it and the previous float had been ok after 2 years. It's not cheap but you'll find many other uses for once you have it. It should be kept in the freezer if not used frequently
