M-74 Linkert Nozzle

#1

Post by George Greer »

Getting around to overhauling a M-74 B Linkert for my project (since I am on hold for a oil pump) and I have been reading Bruce Palmers new book for details on the carb.

He says that there should be a asbestos or phenolic washer on the main fuel nozzle. That bugger would be tiny.

I can not find any reference for a part number in what few manuals that I have.

Question:

Is in necessary for the washer to be in place?

Any info for a part number for the washer?

Or, what would the dimentions be for making one out of PEEK if they are required.

As always thanks for any info.

The washer should be in the gasket kit.

The carbon holds just fine after a few miles.Thats what makes them a bitch to take out.I am by any means an EXPERT on LINKERTS!.But I have played with a few & you learn more Doing & reading.Let sit in corrosive P-4 gas or Kroil whatever you have .Let it sit overnight & work it GENTLY.When you get some movement Soak & use Air & WORK IT GENTLY.---Respectfully---Richie////I hope were thinking of the same part! /Respectfully---RICHIE

I guess that I am reading Bruce's caption under the photos for the nozzles wrong,

Old book, Page 247, upper left photo and caption

New book page 377.

Thanks for clearing up this

George
