Linkert carb to throttle cable

#1

Post by drousecpa »

I just replaced my handlebars with an original style set with internal cables. How do the route the cables to the carb and distributor? The previous throttle cable was external and just connected to the carb at the side of the bike. Anyone have any pictures or good descriptions?

control coil to the carb runs from the handlebar through the (h.b to top tree) wide plastic conduit, through the top tree and the cable is naturally wanting to go the the left side of the frame. Re-direct the coil (cable) go up towards the top top tube of the frame, and attach the coil to the 24-threaded tab, with open side of the clamp pointed up, (i think). Maybe we have a pic of it. i'll look.

You might consider putting it somewhere safe for posterity, and get a Panhead lift.

(Yer knob is earlier, too, but not rare.)

I think now, is posterity :)
I've wonder why with this particular M74-B, my adjustment on the low speed needle (needle w/ knob) can only be turned 2 turns out, instead of 5 like the manual says. The hi-speed needle turns out 5, not a problem, but turning the low-speed needle out 5 chokes the motor and it won't run. At 2 turns out, the motor runs poi-fectly.

The HS needle only adds fuel beyond what the fixed jet meters.

When you open the LS needle wide, it allows more air to the main nozzle at high speed, leaning the mixture.
