Linkert Flange Repair
Any suggestions on mounting flange thread repair? It seems like any insert will leave very little meat around the insert. How about Brazing the hole shut and re-threading. Will a torch be too hot. Tig? Thanks All!

I have repaired one using a Tig and silicon bronze rod around 5 years ago, many miles and still good.

Indianut!
If the hole has been egged off-center, filling it with brass is the easiest to work with.
But for simple pulled threads, a common Helicoil insert works just fine, even for the short top hole on 1 1/4" models.
Please make certain that the flange is flat, however, as many lose their threads due to warpage. .....Cotten
