On the swingarm mounts, for the bubble bags on the Harley Davidson Duo Glides, were the round tubes chromed,or cad plated. I think the plates were cad plated. thanks.

Re: Bubble bag mounts on Harley Duo Glides.
Hi Duo
Well, that is interesting, the rig is welded together instead of bolted. A dealer told me only the ones that came on the bikes in the first half of 1958 were welded. And also that they were painted white, not chrome or cad. They took up too much space on the shelves, and were a pain to ship, so they broke them down and bolted them together for the rest of their run. And yours aprear to have extra holes for a different mount application. Hey, wait a minute. Weren't you supposed to be helpin' me? Enough of us get on this, and we'll git 'er figured out. Too bad our bikes are "too new" to get any real good doumented info on them yet.

Re: Bubble bag mounts on Harley Duo Glides.
If one part is cad and the other chrome then how did they weld the two together without damaging the plating on either?

We'll have to see what DUO says, but those kind of look made up to me. I don't know if there are any aftermarket mounts made now, or in the past.

Yes mine too, are all chrome and cad. I just want to make sure that is right. I think so, but I have been wrong once, maybe twice....................

Here's another set I have. All chrome but the side plates weren't polished.
