I am mocking up the saddlebag carriers , as the 58-62 parts book. The is quite a gap between the carrier side plate and the fender support, in the pic I pushed the carrier completely to the left so I have 5/8 gap total or about 1/4 on each side.
Were spacers used? I dont see in the parts book. Carrier, fender struts, frame and rear fender are right
Thanks

Are mounting spacers used?

Roman looking at my 61 fender strut, luggage carrier those flats are about a 1/4 then you need 4 spacers 91089-58 front bumper for example page 115 in reprint parts book then the saddlebag carrier those spacers should be 1/2 thick and used with several things on our year models

Roman,
See pics attached from my 58. Note that I have the luggage carrier, so the spacer I used was different.

Re: Plastic saddle bag carrier
If your going to be running a fender carrier/rack, install it before you measure for your spacers. The photos that Gotnoclass posted has the rack installed.
