Need some help with 60FL wire routing
Need some help with the wiring routing on my 1960 FLH. I got tons of original pics but you can't see anything. I've got to assume that the basics are the same on most models. Dash to gen goes down the left front down tube but what about Reg to gen? Does it run a top of the distributor wire to the gen behind the pushrod tubes or does it return via the dash? In the pics I have, it shows two looms exsiting the rear of the tanks. One is dash to coil strip but what's the other one? The big mystery is the dash to the stop light switch on the left side. I own two 60Fls but nether were stock when I optained them. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. A couple of pictures would even be better. Thanks, Bob L

Re: Need some help with 60FL wire routing
On my 64, coming out of the regulator are two cloth covered wires. One has a red wire inside and goes down and over to the seat post tube then up, possibly into the panel behind the coils. The other sits on top of the breaker wire behind the pushrod tubes forward to the generator...Mike

Re: Need some help with 60FL wire routing
Ok, I've figured 99% of this out. The only Item that's still out there is the neutral light switch wire. Harley doesn't even have a part number for this beauty. The question is does it have its own loom or does it run in the loom to the coil board and just drop down to the tranny switch.
I figured out what the second loom coming out the rear of the tanks was, rear directional's. Thanks, Bob L

Re: Need some help with 60FL wire routing
On my 64 there is one black wire inside it's own loom. It comes off the switch on the ratchet top then up the front left side of the seat post extending up behind the coil wire box but not entering it. It continues up the post then forward over the top of the frame where it enters the space between the tanks. From there I'm assuming to the neutral lite...Mike

Re: Need some help with 60FL wire routing
Why is it so hard to find diagrams or photos of wire loom routing? Palmers, the knowledge base, service manuals, other forums. Short of being able to eyeball a stock bike it's a real struggle. I guess this is an appeal for any close ups that might be uploaded. It would be a valuable resource to many.Robert Luland wrote:Need some help with the wiring routing on my 1960 FLH. Re: Need some help with 60FL wire routing
thanks Bob
started out to drop it off but with the snow I drank it cause I could not make it
How you been
still have not put the pan together but have the lifter blocks I got from you all fixed up and mounted. When I get my Fatboy back together I'm finally going to start putting the Pan all back together.
Just got the paint back from a local painter and had it painted Azure blue it sure is blue
thanks
