Bosch regulator wiring
Can anyone please tell me how to wire a 12v Bosch reg to a stock pan ignition switch???? i am pretty sure how to but have just enough doubt to seek advice: the reg is mounted off the generator end using an after market bracket: i have a wiring harness from hummer emporium: i am trying to hold true to the stock wiring paths as close as i can: bbhf

Re: Bosch regulator wiring
Does it have three terminals labled F,G and B?
If so, based on the Clymer wiring diagram:
Bosch terminal F goes to the F terminal on the generator via a green wire.
Terminal G goes to the A terminal on the generator via a red wire.
Terminal B goes to terminal box terminal 39. From there it goes to the ignition switch. It also connects to the battery via another red wire.
Don't forget to ground the regulator well!
Hope this helps.

Re: Bosch regulator wiring
D+ to A on the generator
DF to F on the Generator
(it might help to know that D means Dynamo or generator)
B+ to the battery & lights
61 not used.

Andy: thanks: can i run the B+ to switch post #1 or 5? the later duo-glide diagrams show a wire off the armature to the gen light: can this be used for my 52? bbhf

Re: Bosch regulator wiring
Yeah, I'd run from B+ to terminal 1 to supply voltage to your switch.
The gen light will need to be wired up between A on the generator and terminal 5 on the switch. Terminal 5 is switched hot, and will be at battery voltage when the ignition is on. The A terminal will be a voltage very close to battery voltage when it is charging, so there will be almost no voltage across the bulb, and it won't light. If the Generator stops charging, then the A voltage will be considerably lower than the battery voltage, which will light the light. The lightwill get brighter as teh geneartor voltage gets lower.

Re: Bosch regulator wiring
Thanks: this is the only confusing part as it is different from the diagram: bbhf
