Post by imboden »

I don't need a whole new harness, but I do need a section of the asphault wire cover, any ideas where I can buy that stuff?
thanks

try your local custom heavy duty truck upfitter. by that i mean a place that builds partially finished trucks for municipalities or utilities.

many of them still use it. look for places that repair or finish plow trucks salt spreaders and the like.

beyond that if you are rural, try tractor/implement places they use it too.

I order a lot of stuff from mcMaster-carr. they have a huge selection of industrial supply, but will most likely have a small section of asphalt sheathing and other types. they ship next day. I have a catalogue but i always order online . chuck

I'd be interested to know what the part number is from McMaster Carr. I could not find it with them MSC, or Grainger. I ended up buying it off E-pay.

sorry panpal, I was mistaken, they have other types of sheathing some look interesting;not oem type but may function better. I probably got heat-shrink and terminal-ends. that is another story. I had hoped to use these heavy duty #6 ring terminal,s but they are just too bulky to fit the ignition sw. contacts. the ring terminals that came with the harness have a flat at the top and are thinner than the ones I hoped to use but I may have been assembling a dagwood had I tried to stack a couple of these thick terminal's. chuck
