Nice diagram, thanks.
I would still like to see an actual pic of one mounted, anyone?

Re: 68543-61A 6 volt, 2 terminal turn signal flasher
Gotnoclass - no kit, putting together a basket, as I start to wire it I found I had front and rear turn signal bullet lights so was good time to investigate that wiring. Great schematics from this group. Bought the external handlebar switch, routing wires, just ordered a round flasher, not sure how to mount a round flasher since the book shows a square one. So just looking for ideas from others.

I have the round one as well. I strapped mine to the fork tube behind the left tin cover. Nothing fancy. Used some zip ties and friction tape

Just a spring metal base that was attached that the flasher unit slipped into. No different than the rectangular that were pop riveted to the rear fender of most bikes in the 70s.

Hope your operation switch is a better type and location than my 63 FLH.
I only use mine after dark when required.
Hand signals are quicker and easier and harder to leave on.
Regards B.B.

Re: 68543-61A 6 volt, 2 terminal turn signal flasher
I just ran across these instructions from Harley Davidson Genuine parts and accessories.
This is part of 9 pages Harley published for mounting accessory directional signal lights on 1959 and earlier Harleys. It also has 1960 to 1969 models shown, but since yours is the earlier one I'll send it .
Notice they say tape the flasher onto the cable , then start talking about drilling a hole .
They talk about Also drill or file as shown in figure 2 , but figure 2 is for the newer 1960 -1969 models so I didn't photograph it .
I'm glad it isn't me trying to figure out what they are talking about , but I guess eventually I will be , because I have the signal lights to put on the bike I'm slowly building ..
Good luck.
Neil
PS I cut the 2 lines off under "installing flasher " it should end with Drill hole in.
and the second line says As shown in figure 2
