Adding turn signals to a 58
Looking for tips to add 6v turn signals. I will need to go outside the handlebars for the switch, what has worked well and what is a good flasher and placement for the flasher?
Thanks
Thanks

See attached. I believe Rubone published the schematics here in the past. I’ve used the Emgo flasher with no issues. They are really delicate, so if you wire them wrong it’s toast.

Go with a 6v electronic flasher---much better than the NOS thermal flashers.

Re: Adding turn signals to a 58
I am making a basket as stock as possible, handlebars have dimmer and horn switch already been wired, no more holes for turn signal switch, so I would like to run external. The basket has mixed year parts, 57 and 58, no provisions seen for turn signals parts other than I do have 2 front clear and 2 rear red stock bullet lights that I would like to make turn signals.

The turn signal (and spotlight switch if used) go on the right side handlebar. That wiring diagram is just one page of a seven page installation instruction set.

No problem brother. I’ve gone through hell and back with my 58. Feel free to reach out for help with pictures or how to. I got mine to stock condition pretty much.

This is great Gotnoclass . Great pics, nice pan, gives me inspiration. What switch on the handlebars did you use for the turn signals? Where did you mount the flasher?

Re: Adding turn signals to a 58
Roman,
See attached pics. The switch is a 3 way with a center off position. It’s the one on the bottom of the handlebar strapped to the top one (spotlight).
I’ve located the flasher inside the fork tins. Also, find a picture with the correct pilot lenses, brackets and spacer required for correct installation. Feel free to PM me with additional questions.

Re: Adding turn signals to a 58
Hi,
beautiful 58 motorcycle !
I have two questions :
Mine is a 58 too, but police model, so on the right side of the handlebar I have the speedo hand lock switch.
When I got it, only spotlights were installed but wires were cut and the spotlight switch was on the right handlebar
close to the handlock switch.
There was a toggle switch on the fork right tin panel (both spotlights had also their own toggle switch) but the wires were also cut.
There was a flasher bolted to the left tin panel with also cut wires.
I think the flasher was for a police use of the spotlights, but do you know what was the use of the toggle switch as there was already a spotlights
switch on the handlebar ?
I have installed directional lights and I have to install the switch now. Do I put it on the right side of the handlebar with the spotligth switch
and the handlock switch or is there another solution on police bikes ?
Thank you for your answers and pics !
Sincerely

Re: Adding turn signals to a 58
Some police bikes with signals have the switch clamped to the bars on the downward bend of the bar. They look a bit odd but I've seen many that way.

Re: Adding turn signals to a 58
Thanks Rubone,
any idea of what was the use of the toggle switch on the fork's right tin panel could be ?
A way to control the flasher ? so you can drive with the spotlights on and have them flashing only when needed ?
was it a common thing on these years police bikes ?
