6 volt regulator

#1

Post by weiner69hd »

I picked up a 1960 duo glide basket case a few months ago. Some parts there some aren't. I;ve looked thru a few manuals; and can't find a picture where the voltage regulator goes. There was no regulator and bracket with it. I;m keeping the 6 volt system. I know u can put them where they can fit; but where the stock position?? I own a couple 60s ironhead sportys; and 76 shovel; and 98 softail; this is my first panhead. any help will be appreciated...

It had a square -47 regulator. This mounted to an 'L" shaped bracket that positioned the regulator so the underside faced the engine. The bracket itself was placed under the rear motor mount bolts at the top rear of the engine.
You can also use a Sportster style regulator mount that hangs off the end of the generator.
