In the service manual wiring diagram for most models, many of the wires for the harness are indicated to be solid colored wire; red, green, yellow, and black, etc. Only a few wires are called out with a colored tracer. (Red/Y, Red/Blk, Black/R, etc.)
The few bikes I've dealt with typically have had most of the stock wiring removed, so I don't have a good reference.
Are the solid colors really solid, or is there a default colored tracer ?
Are the OEM tracers a single or double trace?
Thanks!

Re: Harness wire OEM colors
Thanks Robbie. The three harnesses I've purchased in the past (1965 Electra Glide, 1964 Duo glide, 1969 Electra Glide) and probably from three different vendors have all used a white tracer on what the manual calls solid color wires (at least on the red, green , and black wires)RUBONE wrote:Solid, no default, and single tracers.
I plan on buying some wire and want to get the correct colors.
