pilot light lenses

#1

Post by drinner-okc »

I was just in the "Knowledge Base" looking for a topic how to wire the GEN
lamp with a Cycle Electrics end mount regulator. I came across an old question about pilot lamp lenses. I recently bought a box of the plain Green lenses from my local electric supplier. Lets face-it, Harley never made all the pieces of our motorcycles, they used existing parts from vendors. The pilot lamps & lenses were supplied by Sylvania, and are still made/used today. The part number for the plain Green is 30112, and the
number for the "fluted" lens in 30132. I am the 2nd owner of a 65 Pan,
and it has had plain lenses all along. I just Googled "Sylvania 30112"
and had several hits, some were on-line sales houses.
BTW they only charged me $10 for a box of 10, I waited until they placed
a stock order so they charged me no freight. (They ordered them from
Miniature Lamp Co, in Chicago)
Several of the sites listed the part numbers with descriptions & colors,
so you can get the lens you need.

Good thing to know about the lenses . The right parts on Pans are getting scarce. If you still want to wire your Gen. light , look down a few threads for " idiot light with electronic regulator " .
