is this a good choice for 58 kicker.. how about hot starts,any replies apprecieated!

Bill,
There's nothing wrong with Mikuni carbs, the problem is mounting them with the correct adapter and rigging up a throttle cable and twist-grip to operate them. Its a lot easier to keep the OEM Linkert, works just as well.

If you dont happen to have the Linkert the Mikuni is cheap,available and works very well.45 restoration company sells a reverse spiral so you can use the internal throttle with the Mikuni.

I changed over to 38mm VM's on the fleet some years ago from DC linkerts. I don't use the stock type throttle however, using a standard twist grip. The performance is at least as good, and mileage is slightly better. They're mounted on a 62 pan, 47 knuck, 46 UL(84"), 44 U (84"), and Frankenstein.

I have a used Mikuni off my '64 Pan that I would sell, or trade for a Linkert.

still got my linkert,took it off few years ago cause it used more gas than bendix,but going to hold on to it,any one got an extra right side handle bar[stock] for the linkert?
