Post by harley14094 »

once again thanks to all for the help you have provided me with. my next dilemma if you will is the 55 to 65 pan intake manifolds. i have 2 types, one being steel or cast and the othe being a aluminum one from a harley box from the 70s. which one if either would be the correct manifold for my 60 fl??? my freind needs one for his pan build but i do not want to sell him the one i need. thanks very much.

O-ring manifolds are cast iron for 1955-57 (HD #27029-55), and aluminum for 1958-65 models (HD #27027-55A). Both styles have the raised letters "27027-55" cast into the top.

KOOL. THANKS FOR THE ENTRY. I READ THAT AS WELL. I AM INCLUDING A PHOTO OF THE INTAKE I HAVE . I WAS WONDERING IF THIS IS THE STOCK TYPE PART. IT HAS NUMBER CHARACTERS I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH, THE SHAPE OF THE CHARACTERS LOOKS DIFFERENT TO ME, BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS I JOINED THIS FORUM WAS TO TALK TO PEOPLE WHO KNOW. THANKS

I CANNOT GET IT TO GO THROUGH. THE NUMBER CAST INTO THE INTAKE IS 27027-55A AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE CAST IN REENFORCEMENT RIBS ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE CARB FLANGE. IT CAME FROM A 64 PAN AND I ALSO HAVE A NOS ONE IN AN AMF BOX WHICH IS IDENTICAL.
