Post by 49er »

Hey I have gotten the insert out of the head without destroying it,the head, the threads look good.I have e mailed Carl, but he has not responded.I will try to call him. where do ya get fluid weld? I have looked at napa, tractor suply, and another auto supply with no luck. I have found them in Australia, with a phone number.
Thanks

"Fluid-Weld" is a product of http://silver-seal.com/.

Tain't cheap, neither!

Replacement nipples must have the parkerizing removed from the portion to be sealed into the head, as Fluid-Weld chemically bonds to the bare metals.

You will want to let it set up completely and pressure test before advancing to installing a custom-cut rivet.

If you can just cram it in and it passes a bubble test, go for it.

But don't pin it 'til you test it.
