Have a quick question about the rivet press.
http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/t ... oBrake.php
Just bought one and can't for the life of me figure how it can be used on the sprocket rivets? The body of the press hits the drum making it impossible to line up. What am I missing here?

Re: Brake rivet press
It can't be used to rivet a sprocket to a drum! It is made for riveting linings onto the shoes!

Re: Brake rivet press
if you flip it over would it work?
i don't think it matters what direction you head the rivets from. i did mine with a home made punch and hammer.

Re: Brake rivet press
Dear Tickface and Everybody,
Three edits and forty minutes at two cents a minute and this message is still broke Folks!
Its hard to swell out a rivet inside the hole without LOTS of slow pressure. (See attachment at bottom maybe.)
That little screw press might work for a minute with a cheater bar on it. Beating with a hammer likes to mushroom the top outside before the shank inside but dealers had a jig that clamped in a vise. R'spectfully,
