I keep busting off the wheel lugs and now the dowels are bent???? need help

You can change the dowels.Be sure the lugs fit the taper in the wheel properly.USE OEM lugs! Be sure the threads are clean and in good shape in the drum and on the lugs.Put about a matchead of anti seize on each lug,torque 22-25 ft lb.Retorque after 50-100 miles. I have done it this way for 40 plus years without trouble.HTH.
