Hi Cotten,
Saw your plug in the lastest issue of the horse regarding the carb for one of their feature bikes.

Nice

Congrats

Wayne!

I'm out of touch with hardcopy magazines (I hardly even read the AMCA's),
and very much out of touch with the Horse after they banned me from their forum a decade ago.

Who's machine is it?

Did they cite "Cotton", or Liberty?

HI Cotten,
I'll check when I get home to get the particulars.
I know that they mentioned you by name and Liberty.

HI Cotten
You and your shop are mentioned by name but no phone number or address etc.
The bike is a 38 Knuck and you did a "Sleeper" M36 Linkert carb for it

Wayne!

"Sleeper"?

I've fondled too many M36s for it ring a bell.

I picked up Horse up for a second while I stood in line at at the quickymart;
Didn't have time to find it, but I did determine quickly that it is just as well that my credits were limited: The format of the rag misses the bulk of my 'customer demographic'.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Cotten, it was my 1938 frankenstein bike, you did the carb for me a couple of years ago, I believe in giving credit where it belongs, I hate reading about bike builds where the owner claims he did everything! SO,,, I list everyone that I can recall in my feeble memory bank and give them credit where it is due, I had a lot of fun with that particular build as you can tell.
It was a lot of hours with lots of friends visiting during the project, everyone had an opinion, I was selective about the ones I acted upon.

Nelson!

I appreciate your appreciation!

Forgive me if I seem apprehensive toward hard-copy publications,
but they always seem to come back upon me, somehow.

That is just one of the reasons why I enjoy this interactive community!
(Especially the edit function.)

Thanks,

...Cotten

Hello Nelson,
That is a nice bike. Hope you still are enjoying it.

Cotten, the Horse has some interesting stuff once in a while (Nelson's bike for example) however a lot of the bikes are hacked together J brand stuff that look unsafe to stand beside let alone ride.

My $.02 anyway

Cheers

Thanks Wayne, That build was about as radical as I have done, It won 2nd place in the period modified class at(AMCA) Eustis, Florida this year, The only thing that kept it from 1st place was the late model sportster rear brake pedal, (it fit perfectly)...
I do ride mine so it is hard for me to keep any 100% ,
Regards, Nelson
