How to restore your Harley-Davidson Bruce Palmer

#1

Post by hjans »

Hi
I own a lot of ( digital) books,
Amongst others I already have :
1958-59 FL service ( rare??)
59-65 Duo service
61-76 part
1941-78 FL parts
1948-57 EL, FL service and parts
1959-69 Electra Duo service
Clymer Panhead service

except the one mentioned above.

I hear lots of good things about this book, so i want it in my garage !
Anyone did bother to scan it and/or owns a digital copy ?

anyone can/wants to help me ?

ehhh, why not buy ?
Over here ( Europe) a lot more expensive
and ( mostly) i prefer digital

I also was wondering about this also. I don't care if I technically own the book, just want the info inside. wouldn't care if it was on just regular ole printer paper. Any help out there?

I paid the $17.xx on Google Books. You can't save or print anything. I wish they'd put it back in print.

I personally love paper and have zero digital books. And do not care if I ever do. Nothing like thumbing through an old book for reference! I have over 700 motorcycle books not counting parts books and service manuals. Some are over 100 years old!
Just an old Luddite I guess!

True, Mike...

But digital are a lot easier to carry in your windshield purse, or around a swap meet!

Personally, I think if a book is worth having, you oughta' pay up and let the poor slob who bothered to write it get a little bit back for his efforts.

If a book is out of print, that;s another story.

In my search for someone who says and can actually build a bottom-end I went to a shop yesterday and while talking to the guy he pulls out a copy of "How To Restore Your H-D, by Bruce Palmer" and after he tells me that a 1965 was the only year Pan with external oilers I asked him about the book. "Yea I think I paid $43.95 for that one". I tell him that they are $250.00 to $600.00 right now and out of print and his reply was, "I need to get four or five to sell then". No I didn't leave him the cases that I need a crank for.

Sure you can. It is not instantaneous, but you can do it.

Just erase all the PNG files in C:\Documents & Settings\%USERNAME%\local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.

Browse to the book with IE. Scroll through all pages-each one will be downloaded as a PNG file to teh directory above.

Copy all the PNG files out, and use Acrobat or your favorite pdf creator to combine them into a pdf.

There you are.
