Looks too new to be the actual bike. Lacks 'patina'. Nice effort though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TEX-BIKE ... 4a9e8d3db4

Cool picture too. Ever see a tail light lens like that ? ~Rick http://pan-clan.com/

We have to take the seller's word that it is the same machine.
We have no real reason to doubt it.

But think how truly wonderful the machine would be if it had not been molested by restoration.

Its sad, really.
Tragic. Like repainting the Mona Lisa.

This is not the original restored "TEX" bike. It was built basiclly from scratch. However, in reading the seller's description, I can see where one might get the wrong impression!!! The original, if it somehow surfaced, would be worth a mint restored or not IMHO. :D

there is a question with an answer at the bottom of the auction ad. the bike is a reproduction from the answer. the ad does seem to lead you to believe it's the original bike tho. scroll down to the bottom and you'll see it. interesting exchange there,

Now it is infamous.

It would be hard to be more 'famous' than "Capn Amurika".

Somewhere I have an old issue of Earlyriders (they published around six issues in the mid to late nineties) There is a big article on what I believe to be this bike. The guy spared no expense in duplicating the bike on the cover of the Post.

The bike was at the January Las Vegas Mid America auction and did not meet reserve. Be interesting to see how it fares on eBay!
