I wonder if he meant that it might of sort of been close to a 1956? The 2-stripe rear fender has me a little puzzled too.

somebody will think its really great though and we'll hear from them on the forum when they find out that it doesn't really kick start as easy as the guy advertised.

Without an unmolested VIN stamp (impossible, unless built upon a Knuck case...yes it can be done), the title is just another piece o' paper.

Since no photos of the VIN or even a text listing is offered, it is worth less than the sum of its parts: Who needs the grief, unless parting out felonies is your trade.

I would like to see the belly numbers. The right case has the tappet strainer and I saved the left side photo to see if I could enhance it to see the numbers ,but too blurry when enhanced to tell , can't tell if the first numbers are a 46 or 48.

I used to worry about my 47 numbers, but since I was told they did indeed start the 48 model year with some 47 numbers( by a old harley dealer& racer of Pans & Nucks ) , I feel better ,but 46 is stretching it a bit.

Isn't the Knuck left side a match to the Pan right ?

Pooka!

The Pan right case would have to be cut down at the cylinder decks considerably, something like 3/16" (I don't trust my memory.)

And the top case bolt won't line up.

It has been done. But It is doubtful that it is the circumstance with this machine.

Thanks for the answer. Sorry I didn't get back to ya sooner.I knew the Knuck and Pan's had some difference's.
Didn't realize they were that drastic.
Just guessing, I would say this is a re-stamp job.

Looks like a knuckle left case mated to a pan right. I can see the cylinder overhanging the case in the one photo.
