Re: 1948 fl
Sorry to say, but this subject has been broached many times in the past, here and on every other site, bike meet, and anywhere else like minded folks gather. And never over all these decades has a single piece of actual documentation appeared to back up such a claim. Unless the original owner could produce a real document showing it as actually having been built it falls directly into the "hearsay, urban myth, etc., category of information. H-D has no records of such a thing (although their records of that era truly are minimal), no brand specialist has ever been able to document one, and no true one owner unmolested example has come forth. So you have a rough row to hoe on that issue.i recently purchased a 1948 fl with a hydo glide front end. i was told the original owner purchased it this way in 1948. any idea how i may go about reseaching this
Post some pictures of your acquisition, because questions with no pictures just add to the hearsay.
