7/16" Allen Wrench

#1

Post by HDChevroletUSA »

I just changed the tires on my 60 and found out how difficult it is to find a long 7/16 inch allen wrench to separate the wheels from the brake drums.
Does anyone know where I can buy one? Autozone, NAPA, Walmart, Sears, and Harbor Freight don't have it. I even checked the websites for Snap-on and Matco. No luck.
Thanks.

Originals and reproductions of originals are available at all the aftermarket parts sources, on eBay every day, etc. That is a pretty easy item to come up with. And a piece of 7'16ths hex stock in a socket on a breaker bar works great as well. A three foot piece of stock at a metal supply house is cheaper than a snap-on donor!

I ran into same crap....couldn't find the 7/16" hex after the flood (dunno what you call it, had a 3/8" socket built into it) Finally found a 7/16" allen at a Ace Hardware, sawed it in half, gooped it to a deepwell 7/16" socket....just fits through the hole
