1950 out for the first ride in years
Finally put everything on the bike and got the right cable for the timer to work.(push pull throttle lock solid cable)
Had the bike for good 20 mile ride or so and it is an awesome thing never thought it would ride that smooth.
Most of the oil leaks slowed up once the bike ran a bit.
The sad thing is my father was diagnosed with cancer and is too sick to ride it.(I was waiting for him to feel better to finish the bike)
If their is a panhead god please let him be able to ride it.He just wants to ride it once.

Thanks for the kind words.I hope he gets well enough to take it for a ride before
he starts chemo. He only bought it 4 weeks ago and he wasn't feeling well but no one
thought that it was serious.
I'll post some pics. soon of the bike and I'll make sure it will be ready to go for him.
Bike runs perfect and starts at one kick when it"s hot but cold it takes a lot of kicks.Any little tricks we
should be trying?Sometimes it might take 12-15 not bad for me but could be a problem for him.

What kind of carb is on it? After sitting for so long you might want to check for rotted intake orings and intake leaks. Has it always been difficult to fire when cold? Really hoping the best for your dad, get his ass in that saddle at all cost!

Thanks for the tip jdpan. It still has the original Linkert (M) carb.Which we pulled first and cleaned along with the tanks,shut-off new points, condenser, battery, key switch, cables etc. all of the tune-up stuff you could think of.
I went to it today and kicked it for quite a while and nothing so after pulling the plugs
found that they where dry. After inspecting the intake cross tube I found that whoever did the
engine tried to seal it with high temp silicone and painted it grey.I pulled all of it out and mixed up
some jb-weld and packed it in and sanded it smooth. After letting it set up for an hour or so 2 kicks she sat
and idled like a champ.
Here is some pics.We didn't restore it but we were trying to make a deal on it 20 years ago and couldn't afford it then so someone else bought it and had it fully re-stored and never ever rode it.Odometer shows 275 miles since it was done.We plan on riding it every chance we can.It won't be sitting in a garage under a cover anymore!

Looks a great ride.
My thoughts and prayers are with you that your Dad gets to ride her.
