PANHEAD oil pump

My 55 pan leaks oil down from oil tank almost all in couple weeks I had the oil pump check valve seat done put back together no difference now I took the 3/8 ball hit it brass punch and a hammer couple of times then put new 3/8 ball in and new 26363-36 36-65 1 3/4" ck valve spring I had the 26363 -56 1 3/8" suppose to to be 54-65 also I also replaced the 26374-54 pump relief valve spring for all u PANHEAD experts what's your thoughts what spring would you use 26363-36 or 26363-56 ck valve spring any thing else should I do before I put all back together scooter people I have ask said that's normal I know it's not my knuckle hardly loose a drop after it sits all winter

What do you mean "you had the seat done"? And often tapping a ball into it can crack the casting. A very close high magnification inspection is the first step.

I'm no Rocket Scientist, but if your losing all your oil in a couple of weeks, you have a majot #ss problem,. Look for the drip down, trace it back, case closed,

When say I had the seat done I took the pump off sent it to a guy that supposedly was good at fixing oil pumps that was recommended by people in amca I don't remember his name or shop I remember he was by bloomsberg bill museum in PA it was supposedly fixed when I got it back never look at the seat ,put back in my pan same problem so I take ur feeling either spring won't do anything I take back off clean oil pump look at seat magnification see how it looks as far as hitting the ball with brass punch that was one thing I was told to try incase there was a burr on the seat

I found the recept it has company American Cycle Fabrication Inc Bloomberg PA no individual name

Excalibur thankyou I read through it, I am thinking that this winter I will just put another pump on it, I see some people say if gaskets are too thick will cause the problem
