Too rich for my blood but I'd sure like to see somebody buy it before the Mach IV ghouls part it out.

Re: OP '59
Those hubcaps are “Kool Beans” and is that blue stripe cable cover available anymore?
The 59 in the motor number looks funny to me.
A nicely built bike but too expensive.

I actually like the hubcaps. I think someone some time in the past got a little carried away with the glass jewels, though. They're everywhere.

Re: OP '59
Looking at many of the things Mach IV has sold over the years, they are not as knowledgeable as they should be on old Harley parts. Or maybe it's just the hired help who don't know Vintage Parts....
In any case, if it don't sell, those jackals will tear it down, and part it out a piece at a time.....
BTW: They have blocked me. I wonder why. LOL.....

That is for the bean counters to determine.
I am quite sure they have way less than 50K in the bike to begin with. These are the kind of guys who rob estates, and grieving widows...

Re: OP '59
Agreed, the 59 looks wrong to me also, it does not seem to match the rest of the stamping.

Re: OP '59
Nothing wrong with those numbers IMO. That thin style of 'year-number' font looking slightly different than the rest of the stamp started in '58 I believe, and was pretty typical for the next several years.

Re: OP '59
The factory used a "59" gang stamp in 59, all 59's look like this, rest of the vin uses other stamps and fonts.Agreed, the 59 looks wrong to me also, it does not seem to match the rest of the stamping.

Re: OP '59
I've had a bunch of real world interactions with these folks.
How?
Well. . .
The "Mach Iv dude" is usually across from me at Davenport. Had 10 people and family with him. Nice Wisconsin folks who are raising a family on the proceeds from their business. Two big RVs and trailers.
Big stack of cash and buying bikes over three days. They took all of Saturday to load the roughly 25-30 bikes they bought.
There were plenty of chances for all the tire kickers and dreamers to scoop up the bikes, yet they wound up on his trailer.
No one was robbed or cheated.
Again, how do I know?
Well, when out buying. . .
I've been beaten to the punch by him more than once the last few years. He often pays 70-75 percent of market. I tried to get him to sell me a Ducati dharma he beat me to at d'port. No dice as he was keeping it for himself. Like John Parnham, he's built up a nice little collection up in Appleton. Not all of the bikes he buys get pulled apart.
And, why wouldn't he block folks who hate his business? It's no different than if you hated steak and protested outside the ponderosa. Or if you counted cards at the black jack table. The business would ask you to leave. He ain't trying to be an expert, he's trying to support a large family and run a business.
It's not a hobby for the guy who puts food on the table through sales.
hobbyists and business owners often have different perspectives.

Re: OP '59
I'm not crazy about his business simply because he tears bikes apart that I would gladly pay for if I had the money and was in the buying mood. We just don't have much of the old iron around these days. I use the salvage business occasionally when I need something for my truck that I can live with used rather than pay the new price.
I bought the transmission for my project bike from him at what I thought was an unbeatable price, $650 for a 59 case full of gears without the top in really good shape too boot.
He has changed his way lately though. He is asking crazy money for some parts where he used to start at a dollar.

Re: OP '59
Take a look at his other parts for sale. He has an entire 1959 FL broken down and parting out. Perhaps thee is something one of us could use....
