1964 Duo Glide Wiring
Hello...I have a 1964 Duo Glide. All the original wiring (whole bike), terminal boards and indicator light sockets in headlight housing are missing. First question where is the best place to acquire a wiring harness that would include all of the above? Second question is the location of the board behind the headlight? Most Pan's I have encountered in the past had the board mounted right side of the triple trees. My triple trees don't have mounting holes there. I do have holes center of the triple trees. It looks like I would have room behind the headlight to mount the board center of the trees. Is that where it would go? I think the trees are original. See photos....

Yep definitely in the center. Go to ebay and search wiring harness 1964 Harley Davidson. you can get a complete kit including board or just the harness.

Re: 1964 Duo Glide Wiring
Once purchased, any replacement harness should have all the crimped terminals check to be sure each is secure, and soldered if necessary. Personally, I solder all the terminals, heat shrink wrap, on any wiring I do as I have had faulty production crimps fail, and that is not a good thing.....

Re: 1964 Duo Glide Wiring
Screw holes in your trees are in the normal position for 60–64 Pans.
Lower tree forging number is probably 45705-48 which was first used for 49 models. Forging hallmark is probably M over F in a circle indicating Modern Drop Forge. Die number 10 is consistent with 63–64.
The additional original component identifying number on the left fork stop appears normal but is the 2 seriffed or sans serif? The letter C was used for 64–65 but a 65 tree wouldn’t have the screw hole in the centre so that leaves 64.
Top tree forging number is probably 56120-60 which was first used for 60 models. Here’s what appears to be an early version. Notice above the screw hole there is no recess in the front edge. I think it was like that for at least 60–62?
But yours is recessed and that, when combined with the screw hole in the centre, makes it consistent with 64 and I’ve seen the recess on a couple of other trees that appear to be 64. (I don’t know yet about 63.)

Re: 1964 Duo Glide Wiring
A little off subject but I noticed the op’s pictures show the lower tree with only one of the headlight bracket mount locations threaded. Why is this? I may be way off but thought I would ask.

Re: 1964 Duo Glide Wiring
The new for 1960 aluminum nacelle does not use those holes to mount the headlamp....

Re: 1964 Duo Glide Wiring
As of about late-68 or early-69 that boss was threaded to accommodate a horn bracket but I’ve seen it threaded on several earlier trees and here’s another one. Maybe at some stage the trumpet horn was removed and the later style was fitted?
