+1 on John Bordas. He’s done several speedos for me. Good work and reasonably priced.

I guess im in the minority. He did me dirty. Sent him a 1957 CHP speedo for repairs that worked for only 15 miles. Sent it back to him. He “repaired it” And stated i caused the damage by attaching a cordless drill motor to it to test it prior to installation. I attached the drill motor to the tranny end of the speedo cable. That didnt make sense to me but I took his word for it and offered to pay for the additional repairs. He refused the money. This time the speedo lasted 30 miles. I did not send it back to him a third time. I sent it to RALPH DOLLARHIGHT. This all happened about 10 years ago. It turns out BORDAS hacked together a bunch of mismatched internals to make it work. I still have the parts he used. You can clearly see where he hacked stuff to make them work. Ralph sent the parts to me with the newly repaired speedo. 15,000 miles later and still working perfectly. When i told Ralph that Bordas did the prior “ repairs” he was very surprised due to the good reputation that Bordas has.

-1 on John Bordas for me as well.

I sent my speedo back to him 2 additional times to correct the issue with the speedo needle that starts creeping up to to 100 mph. I pull the clutch in and it drops back down. It is possibly the cup I was told by another speedo builder. I am not spending another $50 to send it to him anymore. This was about 5-8 years ago.
