What year manual should I get to cover the '60 engine and the mechanical rear brake? Or do later factory manuals cover earlier years as well? I'm not sure when the rear brakes changed to juice drums. The clutch is kinda notchy feeling. I had to use the clutch and 1st gear to unload the bike off the trailer since it doesn't have a front brake, and the clutch was pretty stiff and sluggish to release.Hubbard wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:36 pm Nice scooter! first and foremost a FACTORY manual, use a haynes to wipe your ass while reading the real one. Mousetraps are perfect if set by the book and they must be in line and have no binding anywhere. Ten bux sez the back wheel will need to be serviced with new rollers and grease. See the manual. Check to make sure the rivets in the sprocket are tight, if not let us know. STAY AWAY FROM TEDDS V-TWIN! There are plenty of good used oem parts around and reliable sources for other things. Ask here for help when needed. Panheads are rather picky about who they will get close too. If you're just a poser or not serious, forget it. Pour a 5 gallon bucket of love on it and you'll have a friend for life.
It's funny, I had a longer girder by this same company (CCW) on a Honda-powered chopper 8 or 10 years ago. That one was 18"-over and this one is more like 12-14" over. I'll definitely be addressing the front brake situation before putting many miles on it. I'm a 2-brakes kind of guy.
