Rocker gasket replacement
Hey all, first timer here. My 59 flh duoglide made it 3 years with no rocker leaks but now its time. My question is that can I replace the gaskets without removing the heads? Pros, Cons?

Re: Rocker gasket replacement
welcome to the forum greenhorn!
yes you can replace them but it is a bit of a challenge. it requires cutting the gasket, placing the cut section nearest to the intake (uphill).
probably less time to just pull the heads.

Re: Rocker gasket replacement
John summed it up pretty good.
Here's some background info.
Pan cover gaskets replacement
If you use the gaskets from Accurate Engineering (which are awesome) you might be able to slip them over the cover and onto the head. But I've never tried it...

Re: Rocker gasket replacement
Sure you can replace the rocker cover gaskets without removin the heads. Just remove the engine. Ya might think I'm bein a smart ass, but give it some thought. In some cases it's the way to go....bosheff
