Re: panhead valve cover screws
You could probably just get them in any hardware store.Im pretty sure thier just regular panhead style screws.
Re: panhead valve cover screws
IIRC, the round head screws are the oddball H-D thread. You won't find them at a hardware store. Try Old Dude for the correct round head and allen screws used on the early Pans.

3 allen head screws on both head covers
installed at the low end of the cover.
The rest are phillips with the 3 layer "D" ring.

Adam, Are you talking about the cover on the head or the gear cover on the side of the motor? Bob L

Re: panhead valve cover screws
The valve covers Bob, I will try to call old dude, but they dont show them on the home page, Thanks for the responses guys, Adam, yeah, I think they are just 10 24s, one thing I just relized tonite is that the oil pump body thread is a 1/4 20, not 1/4 24 like the case studs, I found a pump with a block off plate from a 48, I think because shes an early 51, its MORE correct? with the long boss ect...Its hard to know what went on back then at the factory, I belive what ever was around was used up
