1991 CV carb
I took my carb apart to clean, and change a jet, and did nothing else. Now when I try to fit the float bowl ,on the body of the carb, the accerator tube's o-ring seems to be preventing the bowl from going on properly . I didn't touch it. the opposite side fits flush. I pressed the bowl towards the body with my hands ,and pressed quite hard ,but it didn't go on . I don't want to use the screws to "pull it on" for fear of cracking the bowl . when I hold it against the body , the bowl teeters side to side at the accelerator tube point because that's where it's the only point of resistance . I'm enclosing photos . Thanks

So, the accelerator tube is bindng, and not going all the way up into the carbs throttle bore, correct?

Re: 1991 CV carb
It's not uncommon for the rubber to expand just enough to give you fits trying to put the bowl back on. You can try putting the bowl on and get an even space between the body and the bowl. You can draw the bowl down like a fraction of a turn at a time evenly with the screws while keeping an eye on the oring. I have a little screwdriver that I use for this to keep the oring in the groove.

Re: 1991 CV carb
Well that makes sense that the o ring has expanded. I'm going to see what I can do by putting force on it like rigging a proper carb fitting devise to put into my vice and pull it together that way , maybe lube the o ring , why didn't I think of lube before now ?? I'll try the lube first .
Thanks

Re: 1991 CV carb
I put a small bit of lithium grease on the o-ring and after pressing it with my hands it went together . Now it slips in and out perfectly .
Problem solved .
Thanks .
