I'm waiting to find out what issues I'm going to have with my 08 SERK. I hear bad things about lifters, wheel bearings, over pressure valve springs, fly wheels being replaced with S&S welded wheels, and throttle by wire doesn't give me the warm fuzzy feeling either.

I haven't the means to split the wheels. Any thoughts?
I never had one or these apart, but I was replacing rods on my son KX dirt bike many years ago and resorted to cutting the pin in half through the rod, then jigging it up and pushing the cut shafts out on a hydraulic press. However I was replacing the rod and shaft anyway. no real need to tool up for a one time repair. You are questioning the integrity of these rods, and as Andy stated, these are replacement part motors.
