Speedometer drive cable routing
My 1952 FL runs a mousetrap clutch setup. My speedometer drive cable tends to lay against the rod going back to the clutch arm. I'm wondering if anyone had a good picture of the proper routing and clamping for the cable?

Re: Speedometer drive cable routing
There is a clip that holds the cable. The clip is on the top center case bolt between the cylinders.

Re: Speedometer drive cable routing
Thanks for the reply Pan Pal, I'm looking for a good picture of the proper clip. A friend used an ADEL clamp on his but his bike is not stock and is not using that bolt to mount a carb. support bracket on the other side of the case. The bolt is too short to have both a carb support bracket and clamp mounted to it, so I'm guessing that the proper clamp or clip is very thin and taller than an ADEL clamp. I'm really hoping someone has a picture of the proper clamp/clip.

That's a great photo...!
Here is a blow-up taken from a factory photo of the '52 FL prototype.
You can see the routing, and the clip is attached under the cylinder base nut.
Here's another cut from a factory photo. Notice the clip at the cylinder base nut. Also notice the VIN-- yes, it's a '52.

Re: Speedometer drive cable routing
Thanks guys, exactly what I was hoping for. Now all I have to do is find or make a clip.

Re: Speedometer drive cable routing
I have never ever seen that cylinder base stud mounted clip, but I think it's a good thing....
