handlebars for 1962 flh

#1

Post by Dave Beck »

Looking for a set of handlebars for a 62 flh. My bike now has what I think are buckhorn sporty bars, way to close together to ride comfortable. If any one has specs, rise, pull back, width etc. I would sure appreciate it. Thanks in advance

The bars are two piece and are held together by the center clamp/riser, which is a cast steel affair. It is used on all Big Twins starting in '60, and all K Models and Sportsters from '52 into the mid '70s when they went to the one piece bar. The bars you need also should have controls for both sides, right for throttle, left for timer.

I will not be using the internal throttle and advance grip controls. I have a S&S super B and auto advance distributor.

Those don't look like FL bars, they look like Sportster. What riser do you have? The original is one piece and it is extremely obvious how they go together. There is merely a hole in each end where the bars go. If you have some other set-up they won't work. You may need one piece bars!
