Remove handlebar end

Need to replace the spark advance handle bar end on my 1961 FLH, any tips?

Actually I installed a set of aftermarket handlebars and I have a left half of a two piece and would like to remove the end and install it in the aftermarket for my spark advance. I know you can find the ends on Ebay, but since I have the left half I'd try it . Mark

How does the old end come out? All horn button, light switch, and set screws have been removed. Is it pressed in and just a tight fit?

No,no, the shoulder is just to center it and you weld it on. You got to deal with the collar and all the other goodies. If you're not set up for machining? Forget it. This is why I asked the question in the first place. Bob L

I'm not following. The OD of the handlebar is roughly 1", the OD of the end is .830 which is the ID of the collar and the grip spiral. On my bars you can stick a wire bent on the end in the bar and feel where the end steps down.

All that stuff is good but it's welded on. Bob
