HANDLEBAR question, please look
Hello all. I'm just trying to get the measurements for the 48 panhead, like this one:
Can anyone PLEASE tell me the width, rise, pullback, and centre measurements?
I'm buying an FLSTS and want this style in an aftermarket bar...but I am having a hell of a time finding any info on them!
Thank you in advance!

Drimner:
Sorry, mine has the "speedster" bars which are different from those in the picture.
For what it's worth, I used to have a sportster that had the swept back bars like those in the picture. I felt like I was driving a wheel barrow!
Perhaps you could go to the dealership and try out bars. Just hold them in your hands and pick the one that is the most like the one in the picture, but also feels comfortable in your grip.
Just a thought.

Go into the knowledge base on this site,
Go to documentation,
There you will find the Panhead service manual as a PDF file
Within that are the specs for straightening the stock bars which give the width, rise, and pullback dimensions!

Re: HANDLEBAR question, please look
Thank you very much for your response. Actually, without being able to buy replica panhead bars, I've settled on a Flanders 'Roadster' bar...It's width is 34.5, pullback 8.5, centre 7, and rise 5.25.steve_wood wrote:Drimner:

I'd be interested to see whether or not these bars are similar to your speedster bars, as I had initially WANTED the speedster bars from Flanders, but the knurling is off...another speedster bar I inquired about was from Paughco, and it too will not fit the flsts....
If you can, let me know!!
Thanks.

I think you misunderstood me...can you tell me your speedster bar measurements? That IS the bar I'm looking at getting, or as close to it, as they don't replicate the panhead bar for my bike.steve_wood wrote:Drimner:
Sorry, sold my Sportster and most of the parts.

Drimner:
Where are you located? I'm in the Annapolis Valley NS but moving to Winnipeg....
My bars are:
Width is 34.5, pullback 9, centre 11, and rise 4. Kinda similar to the bar that you settled on.

Re: HANDLEBAR question, please look
drimner, I had Flanders knucklehead bars on my 93 Springer for many years, I loved them & they looked great. They had the correct Springer spacing & knurling.....Rod

Re: HANDLEBAR question, please look
thx, i checked them out too, and they are very similar to the flanders roadster bars...if i wasn't planning a pogo seat, i think i'd opt for the knucklehead bar, but sitting a bit more forward, the roadster have 2" less pullback...i think that will help...but i could be wrong!!UPSROD wrote:drimner, I had Flanders knucklehead bars on my 93 Springer for many years, I loved them & they looked great.
