Re: Risers and handlebars
There are several different "correct" bars for '54 depending on the style of the bike. All share the same control assembly which was new for '54 but continued into the '70s, a simple spiral retained by an end screw. Otherwise they came in several shapes and finishes. The most common was the chrome Buckhorn type on most models but the chrome Speedster was also available. The standard Police bar was a black painted Buckhorn but again there are black Speedster bars also.
All used the '49 up type risers however those also came in two types. the standard chrome rubber mount type and the solid mount in black.
What style is your bike, Police, Commercial, Deluxe Solo, etc, as that determines which way to go on the bars.
