Pogo Stick Question
I've dug in the Knowledge Base and Documentation but didn't find what I'm looking for.
1. When your pogo stick bottoms out (hard stop) how much is sticking out of the frame tube?
2. What's the distance from the frame tube to flat top of the pogo stick without anyone sitting on it?
and
3. When the Pogo bottoms out, are the springs Coil bound or what causes it to come to a hard stop?
I guess I'm getting ready to count the "Horses Teeth". I only have about 1.250" stroke before bottoming out. With 220 pounds, mine instantly bottoms out and I'd need to loose about 35 pounds to get it off the bottom.

Re: Pogo Stick Question
Call David Croft 440-458-8813. He puts spring sets together using stripper springs for anyones weight. I'm running them in three bikes. Bob L

Re: Pogo Stick Question
I used a set of Dave's springs in my 51 and noticed a big improvement over the "heavy duty" springs that came with my V-Twin seat post. No bottoming out at all. I'm about 210LBS...Mike

Re: Pogo Stick Question
I currently have 1.375" of travel before it bottoms out. I have one spring on the rod that's inside the top tube and one spring loose inside.

Re: Pogo Stick Question
Mike,
The post came from the factory with six springs, three in the top, three on the bottom.
Buy a set from David or the set on Ebay.

Re: Pogo Stick Question
Can you give me a ballpark figure on what Croft charges for a spring set? I've seen his name come up in a couple of threads, and I think this is the way I want to go.Robert Luland wrote:Call David Croft 440-458-8813. Re: Pogo Stick Question
As I recall it was like 55.00...and came with an extra spring you can substitute depending on your weight and ride preference.

Re: Pogo Stick Question
Thanks.
I'm working on oil leaks right now. I'll get back on the Pogo springs asap!

Re: Pogo Stick Question
With shipping, it's $60, and I think there are several extra springs included. I ordered some from Dave Croft yesterday.Panacea wrote:As I recall it was like 55.00...and came with an extra spring you can substitute depending on your weight and ride preference.

Re: Pogo Stick Question
G'day CaptMike,
Croft sounds like the way to go, but spring sets are still available across the counter from the MoCo.
I got one about 5 years back, I'm pretty sure there still available today. I'm about 220 lbs
Only difference, is spring profile is flat instead of the round.
Cost was $100. here, probable cheaper in the U.S.
