1965 Electra Glide Buddy Seat
Hello,
Newbie here and first post. I just picked up a 1965 FLH and looking for correct items for this bike. Does anyone have a picture of the correct buddy seat for '65? I see items of Ebay and they say it's for a '65 but I want to confirm. Also looking for correct key ignition switch.
Looking forward to getting this bike back on the road!
Thanks!
Craig

I may have the ignition switch, but will need to know exactly what is correct for '65. Research required.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the Buddy seat was a 1 year seat that had gold piping.

Re: 1965 Electra Glide Buddy Seat
I'm not sure what a '65 seat looks like but I got this one. I think the date says DEC 1964, check the pictures it's kinda rough. I'd like about $60 plus shipping. The rail that was on it is on my pan.
Got anything to swap?

Here's a better shot of the date code. It's in green and I'm not completely certain whether the last number is a 4 or a 1 but there seems to be a crossbar on it for a 4.

Re: 1965 Electra Glide Buddy Seat
From what I'm learning and with some research, I believe the '65 buddy seats were smooth with no stitching. Would anyone know if this is correct?

This was just a topic on CAIM on 2-9-17, has some good pictures of '65 buddy seats.
Here is one that I have.

I guess my seat isn't what you need but that's OK, it goes back in the swap meet pile. Without knowing what your bike looks like, I was just trying to help.
Maybe someone else could confirm that the ink stamp on the bottom is the way they are identified. I had another that had a '67 stamp but it's been sold.
Enjoy your new bike.

Re: 1965 Electra Glide Buddy Seat
That white seat is a '70s pattern top. Don't know why it would say '64 on it, but that is about a decade off. Unless the top was swapped.

Re: 1965 Electra Glide Buddy Seat
Thanks for the help Andygears! I would have to get the seat reupholstered to the correct pattern anyway. I would have to find the rest of the hardware too.Andygears wrote:I guess my seat isn't what you need but that's OK, it goes back in the swap meet pile. Re: 1965 Electra Glide Buddy Seat
I have two of those white buddy seats. One came on a '68 FLH and the other came on a '69. They may be ugly, but they sure are comfortable.
