Valve Spring to Assist Pogo Seat
Hoping you all can once again help. I have a pogo seat that bottoms out and I want to add a valve spring to help prevent this. I understand that Chevy BB valve springs might do the job but try finding one in the UK without buying a set from the US at great expense. I wondered if anyone knew of another spring or valve spring that would fit? Maybe... someone has one lurking that they might want to sell me... Cheers, Jamie.

Why not just put proper springs in the post and forget all that hack job stuff? They are easily available from here..

Thanks. I want to keep the seat height low hence the valve spring being a simple hack. However, he's worth a closer look, so he got an email address or a website I could just order from? I'm in the UK so time differences etc.
Cheers, Jamie.

+1 on Dave Croft springs. I ordered a set for my '69 FLH and am very pleased with the results. Smooth as silk. He includes different springs for different weight riders. $65 including shipping in the States. Don't know what he'd charge to ship to the UK.
Re: Valve Spring to Assist Pogo Seat
If you adjust the springs according to the service manual, you probably won't bottom out anymore. I have several Pans with pogo seats, the ones where I adjusted them to the book work OK, the ones where I just stuck them in bottom out, even with the valve spring.

I don't think he has any presence on the interwebz. I've ordered two sets of his (Dave Croft's) springs and have been very happy with them. If he has an email address, I don't know what it is. I thought that there might be an email address on the directions he sends, but I seem to have thrown them out.jamiefixit wrote:Thanks. He's in Ohio, which puts him about 5 hours earlier than you.
