Rear fender braces

#1

Post by 1950Panhead »

Are knuckle and pan rear fender braces the same?
Palmer says 37-mid 46 narrow, mid 46-57 wide, does not mention shape.
Photo one, left pan brace, notice the bend to clear chain guard.
Photo two, right pan brace, slight bend near frame.
Photo three, knuckle brace, very different shape.

That last photo is not right, those are not Knuckle bends. The brace pictured looks like it was modified to fit a 45 or a Sportster with the drive on the right. What did the rest of the fender look like?

Thanks Robbie,
The fender looks like a normal 46 knuckle fender without a brace.
The brace has the knuckle chain guard mount on the left.
Bend the piss out of the brace to make a knuckle fender fit a WL?
The left side was broken at welded and some time.
Robbie, do you know the approx 46 vin switch from narrow to wide brace?
Jerry
